A key source of inspiration for Christopher Rutledge is absurdity within the mundane, and the social customs of air travel provide ample opportunity to investigate.

In collaboration with SideFX this was an exploration of technical research and development. A new Houdini-pipeline highlighting and testing new character rigging and animation tools was created for the film, which paved the way for subsequent, efficiently developed films.

Turbulence was selected to screen at many festivals, including Annecy and SIGGRAPH's Computer Animation Festival.
